About Us

Meet Amanda Christie, MS PA-C
Owner and Injector

Amanda is the founder and main injector at Nolana Medspa & Wellness Boutique, an aesthetic injectable practice located in Middletown, CT. She is a board-certified physician assistant who has been practicing since 2014, and injecting since 2017. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Bridgeport Physician Assistant Institute. This intensive 3.5 year program included a cadaver anatomy course at Yale, as well as challenging didactic courses and hands-on clinical training at several hospitals and outpatient facilities.

In addition to holding a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies, Amanda also proudly holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. With her double Master degrees, Amanda is able to combine elements of both art and science into her work as an aesthetic injector.

In addition to practicing medical aesthetics, Amanda has had the privilege of working in the exciting and challenging field of bariatric (weight loss) surgery for several years. In an effort to offer more services to her patients, Amanda began taking injection courses, and from there, she discovered her true passion of aesthetics, a field that combines highly-skilled injection techniques and having a passion to help patients gain confidence and achieve their aesthetic goals.

Amanda’s dream was to combine her years of experience and training as a clinician with her passion for beauty and self-care, resulting in the creation of Nolana Medspa & Wellness Boutique.

What is a PA-C?

A physician assistant, or PA-C, is an advanced practice clinician who has participated in a challenging and rigorous training program at an accredited University. PA school is considered one of the most competitive and challenging academic programs, which is broken up into didactic (classroom) education and clinical rotations (hands-on with a physician) over 3.5 years of full-time, continuous training.

PA’s are only certified after graduating from an accredited PA program, then passing a vigorous comprehensive exam, (much like the medical boards) testing knowledge in both medicine and surgery. PA’s are then eligible for a state medical license, as well as a consumer protection license and DEA license. Each year, PA’s must participate in 50 hours of continuing medical education (CME) and must re-certify every 10 years.

Much like a physician, a PA has full prescribing privileges and may specialize in a variety of fields of surgery and/or medicine.

Many PA’s pride themselves on providing each patient with excellent clinical care, while simultaneously offering warmth, empathy, and compassion, ultimately treating each patient with the level of care they deserve.
